The Approach: Approach to Research Assignment 1: Essential Student Guide

Assignment 1 – The Approach to Research (10%) (SLOs 1)

Students will build upon prior work that included the development of purpose statements and research

questions to address a specific research problem. This will include a discussion of the four major

philosophical worldviews used in research and relate this to the application of the established research

questions. Students will also be required to elaborate on the differences between qualitative and

qualitative approaches and the influence of these approaches in research.
