Weekly Lesson Plan with Differentiation For PreK age
Topic
Directions
1. Complete the Step-by-Step Curriculum Web Assignment
Actions by using the guide included in the PowerPoint slides.
2. Click this link to find an Example of an Early Childhood Lesson Plan
for Nursery through Kindergarten here. Note and emulate how both the initials of children for whom there is an individualized or differentiated focus are written in bold. Also, note that the plan lists S/E for a Social Emotional Focus for those children as well.
Hints: The middle of the web should have a curricular theme. See the example on this page. The outer tentacles should cover each curricular area in your classroom and how it relates to the theme and standards. (Eg. DRAMATIC PLAY: List EVERYTHING you will do in the month under Dramatic Play; or… MATH: List EVERY ACTIVITY they will do in math for the entire month. Lastly, your web and lesson plan should match, in that you are pulling out one week’s worth of activities from your web. Both the web and lesson plan should include your plan for individualization. What are the initials of children (Joel Umoja included) for whom you might alter plans slightly? Be sure to indicate the plan for Individualization in instruction. Use the lesson plan frame given in the Curriculum Web Assignment link given above for this assignment.
