Our lives are filled with measurements, and many of these measurements have to b

Our lives are filled with measurements, and many of these measurements have to be compared to a standard in some way. In this lab class, you are performing several titrations, which seems appropriate for an introductory chemistry class. But it may surprise you to learn that titrations are used for many of the services and products that we use in our everyday lives. Some areas that use titrations include food and beverage production, drug analysis, and environmental monitoring.
For this assignment, choose a process or product that uses titration in its production or analysis. Keep two things in mind:
Do not use the following titrations: titration of Ka in a weak acid, titration of Acetic Acid in Vinegar, and determination of Water Hardness using a titrator. Do not use a simple kit (like a glucose monitoring kit), sometimes called a level titration. This is not an example of a standard titration in which a reagent is added to a specific endpoint.
REQUIREMENTS
Explain the process of titration in your own words. Include these terms: titrant, analyte, equivalence point, endpoint.
Choose a process or product that involves a titration in its performance or production.
Describe the titration in detail. What chemicals are involved? What special equipment is needed? Write any relevant equations. How is the endpoint measured?
Show a sample calculation for the titration.
