Now that you have read some of the original writings related to the theory along with current research, you are going to test the theory yourself. The goal based on your data collection is to determine if your theory explains psychosocial development among emerging adults. You will have one week to collect your data.
Each theory has a predeveloped questionnaire to assess the accuracy and timely relevance of the theory.
· If you selected Erikson, the questionnaire you will use is here: Erikson Questionnaire-1.docx
You will administer the brief survey to ten people that are age 18 or older. They cannot be students enrolled in this class. It should take less than 10 minutes to complete the survey.
You can NOT collect data from more than 10 people!
You will create a google form to collect your data. You should not be able to see personal information about who completed the survey, such as their name or email address. Once you have your google form ready, you will send (or say) the message below to those you ask to complete the survey and provide the link to your google form.
“Hello! In one of my classes, we are doing a project where we are examining emerging adulthood development. I am required to find at least 10 people to participate. Would you be willing to complete a 10-minute survey to help me with this project? Please click here to complete the survey: (link)”
Your Initial Response.
Once you have received answers from ten people on your survey, you will answer the following discussion prompt.
First, restate the theory you are focusing on. Then, without using any names/identifying information, describe the participants you gave the survey to (e.g., age range). How difficult was it to get people to take the survey? Did you encounter any challenges? Make sure your response meets the word count for the discussion assignments (500-1,000 words) and does not include AI generated content.
