Assignment Task

This assignment is an individual assignment that includes one component:

  • A 12,000-word dissertation project.

You are required to choose a topic which falls within your Programme of Study. You should carefully read the Postgraduate Dissertation Handbook available on Aula for further comprehensive details regarding this assignment. Ethics approval

This project has an ethics approval procedure. This procedure must be followed by ALL students and ethical approval for your research must be obtained. If ethics approval is not gained, a mark of zero will be awarded to the dissertation or consultancy. The ethics approval certificate should be included as an Appendix in your dissertation.

Word count limits

The word count for the consultancy report is 12,000. There will be a penalty of a deduction of 10% of the mark (after internal moderation) for work exceeding the word limit by 10% or more. The word limit includes quotations, but excludes table of contents, abstract, acknowledgment,

  • Critically analyse, review and synthesise the relevant literature
  • Critically evaluate and utilise appropriate research methodologies and methods, and demonstrate the principles of effective and ethical research design
  •  Conduct research, analyse, interpret and critically evaluate the data or information obtained and present the analysis and findings of the research demonstrating a deep knowledge of the specialist subject area
  • Formulate realistic and appropriate conclusions and recommendations including identifying recommendations for future policy and practice
