I-O assessment and selection experts are often expected to keep abreast of innovative trends or emerging technologies in talent assessment and measurement, and to assess any potential risks or benefits to the business if such practices are implemented. For this assignment, you will create a PowerPoint presentation that explains the relationship between job analysis and performance management and the advantages of performance management over performance appraisal.

In your PowerPoint presentation:

· Compare and contrast performance management with performance appraisal.

· Compare advantages and disadvantages.

· Explain how job analysis supports performance management.

· Provide two examples using the job analysis you conducted in the Week 5 assignment.

· Illustrate how job analysis, employee goals, and organizational objectives are aligned.

· Explain how the employee benefits. For example, goodness of fit with millennials.

· Explain how the organization benefits.

· Describe the manager and the employee experience with performance management.

· Speculate on the extent to which each may have positive reactions to the approach.

· Explain legal implications for changing from performance appraisal to performance management.

· List pitfalls to avoid in implementing performance management.

Instructions

Create a presentation that includes:

· Written comprehensive presentation notes for each slide that represent the narrative (talk track) you would use to explain the content of the slide if you were presenting the PowerPoint presentation to business leaders.

· Text and images, charts, or graphs to convey your analysis.

· 8–12 slides, including the title and reference slides.

· Citations for a minimum of three sources using current APA style and formatting. These sources can be peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, or professional white papers from reputable sources, such as from professional associations like SIOP or SHRM, or assessment consulting organizations.

· Information that is organized, professional, and provides appropriate context for an audience of business leaders.

Ensure the narrative is not equivalent to reading what is on the slides. The narrative should expand upon what is presented in the slides to maintain the interest of the audience.

Refer to the Job Analysis and Performance Management rubric to examine the grading criteria on which your presentation will be evaluated.

Your assignment should also meet the following requirements:

· Written communication: Communicate in a manner that is scholarly, professional, respectful, and consistent with expectations for professional practice in I-O psychology, and is understandable to key stakeholders who do not have a background in I-O psychology. Original work and critical thinking are required in your presentation. Your writing must be free of errors that detract from the overall message.

· Length: 8–12 slides, including the title and reference slides.

· Font and font size: 24–28 points for headings and no smaller than 18 points for bullet-point text. For PowerPoint tips, refer to the PowerPoint Presentations Library Guide linked in Resources.

· APA guidelines: Resources and citations are formatted according to current APA style and format. When appropriate, use APA-formatted headings.
