You already did the publish for the researched argument last time. Now you need to add 1000 more words to this and beef it up and make it more specific. Also make sure each paragraph goes to the next.
After you have completed your research and all preliminary assignments, you will write a 2000-word researched argument essay that persuasively presents a thesis that makes a claim about an issue related to your topic.  Use the three appeals of argument (logos, pathos, ethos) within the paper, and support your ideas with evidence drawn from at least eight authoritative and credible sources, including at least three peer-reviewed journal articles, as well as scholarly books, government documents, specialized magazine articles, and/or interviews with experts.  Make your position stronger by bringing up opposing ideas and either refuting them or minimizing their importance.  Provide in-text citations within the essay to cite all paraphrases, quotations, and summaries, using either MLA or APA.  Provide a list of all sources that you cite within the essay, using Works Cited as the heading for MLA and References for APA.  You may use additional or different sources than you included in your annotated bibliography, and you do not need to annotate them.  Your list of sources should include only those sources you cite in the essay, and it should not include annotations.
Purpose:   Persuasively present a claim on a topic related to your major or another academic discipline and that is currently being researched.
Audience:  Professor of the class and other students in the class who are college-level readers, but may not be familiar with your specific research topic.
    Guidelines:
Use an essay format with an introduction (introduce topic and present the thesis), body (develop and support the thesis), and closing (reiterate the thesis and provide a sense of completeness).
Provide a controlling thesis that presents your central claim and support it with authoritative evidence    drawn from at least eight sources, including three peer-reviewed journal articles.
    Length: 2000 words
Format:  Typed and double spaced; standard font; numbered pages; for MLA, put your name, course, and date at top left margin on the first page with a centered title; for APA, provide a title page with the title, author, and date.
Documentation:   Use MLA or APA style, providing in-text citations and a list of sources—Works Cited for MLA and References for APA.

hi there this is a communications class on Big Data and Society specifically COMS 2200. this is a discussion activity that you will answer based on the instructions below.

    – Want to know more about who is involved in data-driven campaigning? Tactical Tech maintains a list of companies that harvest and work with personal data to support political clients. Have a look at their list: https://ourdataourselves.tacticaltech.org/posts/wh…

    – An interesting news story from 2017 that exposes some of the ways that politicians use bots on social media to influence voter perspectives. It includes an early example of machine learning for political satire:

    Activity:

Tactical Tech is a Berlin-based NGO that researches how personal data is used by various actors to achieve political influence. They have created a Data Detox Kit that teaches people how to take control of their digital data. https://datadetoxkit.org/en/home/

Read through the steps of the digital detox kit. Which of these steps do you already do? Which don’t you do? Based on what you learned this week, will you change how you use social media or do more to control your data traces? Why or why not?

In a research paper of approximately 1000-1500 words (5 pages/12 point font/double spaced) write an argument advancing an interpretation (claim) of one of the works covered over the semester. Select any of the prompts from the last two papers (see prompts for poetry and short story paper – and yes, you can use the same prompt which you already worked on for a prior essay and expand on your previous argument) as a basis in constructing your interpretation or develop a thesis of your own. Your essay must utilize specific textual examples as well as references from at least three peer reviewed secondary sources (peer reviewed sources include books and scholarly journal articles obtained through the PBSC online database, not websites and Wikipedia) in supporting your thesis. Secondary sources must be in the form of Literary Criticism of the text you are working on. Be sure your analysis is structured effectively in adherence to the guidelines of scholarly writing as covered in the textbooks and discussed in class (formal diction, effective academic argument structure, well integrated support that makes use of appropriate signal phrases to introduce context to your quotes, grammatical correctness, proper and appropriate language usage, etc.). Your essay must be properly cited in MLA format (See Little Seagulls Handbook, page 172, # 11 for how to cite articles from a scholarly database) and must include a works cited as the last page of your paper (This should include the text you selected to interpret as well as the sources you used from the scholarly databases, each properly formatted according to the MLA guidelines for the medium-again, see appropriate pages from the Little Seagulls Handbook or Literature and the Writing Process). On pages 68-97 in your Literature and the Writing process texts you will find a complete guide to academic research writing, including how to incorporate the ideas of other scholars into your essay in order to establish background context, support your own claims, etc. Remember: developing a research project can be slow, sloppy, work, and as you begin your research and see what other scholars and literary critics have to say about your topic you might find your argument will shift and change.
