Assessment Task Detail and Instructions: 

Students are required to focus on the following topic and to consider innovative and practical solutions to organizational problems by applying psychological theories taught in the module.  Students will be required to produce a Portfolio that contains an image, a 2,000-word essay based on the two questions (below), and a 400-word reflection report. 

Topic:

Questions: 

1. What are the main business benefits of taking inclusion and diversity seriously? 
2. What can employers do to promote inclusive and diverse workplace cultures? (This should be covered in the recommendations section) 

The Portfolio should contain 3 elements 

Element 1: 

• An image that captures the topic and a short description of what the image is about (up to 100 words) – 10% of the total mark 

Element 2: 

• A report that critically discusses the image and the selected topic (up to 2,000 words) from a work psychology perspective – 70% of the total mark 

Element 3: 

• An individual reflection (up to 400 words). The 400-word individual reflection must be critical and must also reflect the CIPD Profession Map – 10% of the total mark 

The 2,000-word report (Element 2) must contain: 

Introduction – 5% of the total mark 
Short Literature review and analysis – 40% of the total mark 
Conclusion – 5% of the total mark 
Recommendations – 20% of the total mark Academic Rigour for the whole Portfolio: 10% (please see marking criteria)
