Development Research Project
You are required to write three (3) research papers of 500 words per paper, not counting the cover page or reference page, and no strictly no more than 550 words. Anything after that will not be graded as part of the task is saying what you need to say in as few words as possible. These papers must be written in APA Format with a proper title and reference page, citations that correspond to the references, and 12 pt Times New Roman double-spaced in the body.
Please ensure each one is 500-550 words. Word count does not include the cover and reference pages.

You will be choosing ONE development stage from each of the lists below.

- Thoroughly discuss the: physical, cognitive and psychosocial aspects of this stage.
- Discuss both, Erikson’s & Piaget’s theories on the developments for the stage.
- Discuss behaviors, risks, learning and intelligence for the stage.

REQUIREMENTS
Research your topic citing a minimum of three (3) professional sources per paper (from the library or high-level research from Google Scholar). The textbook can be used but does not count toward the three sources. These MUST be professional sources such as the University’s database, or websites ending in .edu – .gov or .org ONLY. Each source has to be cited in APA format. Paraphrase information. DO NOT use direct quotes.

Paper Requirements:
- Page count:500 words-550 max and please do not go over the max. It will not be graded. This does not include cover or reference pages.
- These should be a conventional five-paragraph paper– an intro that ends with a thesis, 3 supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion.
- Introduction: previews key topics discussed in the paper, defines thesis statement, and tells why the topic is important to the reader. End the intro with a thesis statement which is the topic, point/purpose, and three key ideas. Here is a good template for a thesis statement — Examining what for why illuminates what, what, and what about what stage of development.
- Body paragraphs with a topic sentence, make your point, illustrate with research and proper citation, explain how the research supports your point, and bring back to the main idea before you move on to the next supporting paragraph.
- Conclusion: Summarize the entire paper by restating the thesis in different words and tying your ideas together. It provides closure.
- Sources: minimum of three (3) professional sources (preferably journals), cited in APA format (.edu – .org – .gov or library database)
APA Format Mechanics:
- Margins: 1 inch – double spaced – 12 pt Times New Roman font
- Paragraphs: each paragraph has a minimum of 5 sentences
- Text: The entire document is written in the past tense
- Indented: the first word of each new paragraph is indented 5 spaces
- Text references: referencing after every 5 sentences in a paragraph
- NO Direct Quotes: rephrase all research into your own words
- Contractions: Did not use contractions
- Personal pronouns: DO NOT use: my, me, we, I, our, you, your, etc.
- Grammar: proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation are used
References:
- Reference page– every work cited in the paper is referenced and every reference on the reference page has been cited at least once in the body. The title References appears centered on the page, sources are listed in alphabetical order by author’s last name, the first line is not indented but subsequent lines are indented 5 spaces and single-spaced. Double space between sources.
- Citations– proper APA format for the in-text citation of sources used.
- Paraphrased– You have rephrased your sources into your own words and cited your work in APA format correctly. Do not cut and paste long sections of source material.
- The text should be referenced after every 5 sentences if from the same source.
