Scenario: You work for an aircraft manufacturing company that is in the process of developing a new aircraft. A great amount of research and investment goes into the development of making this aircraft and, as with any investment, a problem during the development and or construction of the aircraft could financially damage your company.
In this case analysis activity, do the following:
Research a problem that a manufacturing company experienced with an aircraft during the development and construction phase. Examples can be gathered from commercial, business, general aviation (GA), and military aircraft design. Think about some of the issues you have read about such as the battery problem on the 787 Dreamliner or the bulkhead design of the F-35. Both of these issues were costly to the manufacturers.
In your example, describe what the manufacturer did to correct the discrepancies and what you would have done differently if you were designing the aircraft.
