This will assure that financial data and other information will be readily available within public databases. The LexisNexis disclosure file can be useful for the identification of a publicly traded company. If the company is within this database, then it is publicly traded.To identify a benchmark company in the start-up business’s industry, complete the following two steps:Collect the primary standard industry code (SIC) from the LexisNexis disclosure file of your chosen organization. (For example, the primary SIC code for Home Depot is 5211.)Enter the SIC in the Search Terms window to research the disclosure database. You should be able to locate all of that organization’s publicly traded competitors. Select a benchmark organization from this search.Refer to the LexisNexis User Guide linked in the Resources for further guidance on completing your search.Assignment Formatting InstructionsFormat your paper as follows:Written communication: Develop accurate written communication and thoughts that convey the overall goals of the assignment.
